In June 2000 Joe Taylor lead a group to one of his excavation sites in Crosby County, Texas just south east of Crosbyton. These are the famous Triassic group red beds of West Texas |

Taylor has spent many years practicing and refining his excavation techniques. Here he describes his technique of plastering a flat base onto the field jacket so that when the jacket is turned over the bones are protected from damage. |

Taylor and crew uncovered an area about four feet long and two and one half feet wide which appeared to be a section from the middle of one of these strange armored crocodilians. The colored section incidates what it appeared to be. |
