This skull was buried upside down and apparently died from the crushing jaws of a phytosaur, a long-snouted crocodilian, similar to a modern garrial. There was a row of phytosaur-shaped teeth marks from the base of the skull going right into the brain case. This brain case, which is about the size of a walnut, is directly under the pineal opening or “third eye”, a ½” hole in the roof of the skull.

Cows had trampled this to pieces, and only 50% of the bone was recovered. Unfortunately the pallet, with tooth marks in it, was not reproduced.
